Free Windows installation and upcoming Plus gameplay. Updated 23 October 2026. The household, decorating, new toys and mobile room described below are Plus preview features; Plus is not available to download or buy.
What is My Little Pet?
My Little Pet Free is a Windows virtual-pet game by Teja Priyan. Plus and its mobile room are coming soon at a planned one-time price of ₹99.
Can the pet walk on my desktop?
Yes. The Windows 10/11 64-bit app includes a transparent desktop mode. Mobile pets stay inside their app.
Can I name my pet and myself?
Yes. Enter separate owner and pet names. Your pet greets you by name. Names can be changed later without resetting progress.
Does My Little Pet work offline?
The Windows app works offline. The mobile app works offline after its files have been cached during an online visit.
Does progress sync between desktop and mobile?
No. Desktop and mobile saves are independent. Mobile settings offer JSON backup export and restore.
Is it free and open source?
The published Free edition is free for personal use. Plus is unreleased. Original code and artwork are proprietary, with all rights reserved. Third-party components retain their own licenses.
Install on Windows
- Download the Free Windows installer from the official itch.io page linked on this website.
- Install on Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Python is included.
- Enter your owner name and pet name. Press D to enter desktop mode after setup.
The installer is unsigned and Windows may block it. Do not disable Windows security; contact support if blocked. The overlay uses the primary monitor.
Install on Android or iPhone
Mobile Plus is coming soon. See installation and availability. After release: On Android, use Chrome’s Install app or Add to Home screen option. On iPhone, use Safari’s Share → Add to Home Screen. Wait for “Ready for offline visits” in Settings before going offline.
What can I customize?
Choose a cat, puppy, bunny, fox, dino, tiger or parrot, three coats per pet, accessories, and rooms unlocked through levels. Coins are earned in the game; there are no real-money purchases.
Your desktop, your way
Press D in the Windows room to enter desktop mode. Drag the house, food bowl, water bowl or ball to position them. Use the −/+ button above the house to shrink or expand it. X hides the furniture; right-click a pet and choose HIDE / SHOW HOME to bring it back. Click the house or choose ENTER HOME: your selected pet walks to the door and the room opens after they go inside. Escape closes the menu without opening the room.
Click a pet for a cute reaction. Right-click offers dance, cursor following, solo/family mode, feeding and naps. Space makes your pet dance. R opens Family from the room, M opens the pantry.
A household of your own
Up to four pets share coins and levels while keeping individual names, looks and needs. Unlock a species in the shop, then buy a slot in Family and add a friend. Additional slots cost 250, 600 and 1,000 coins. Cats are free; puppy 160, bunny 200, fox 260, dino 450, tiger 650 and parrot 800 coins. Existing unlocks stay yours after updating.
Tap a pet in the room to greet them without changing the household. Select a friend in Family to care for or rename them. Companion pets take their own snack and nap breaks and enjoy little play animations. Use solo mode to show only your selected pet. Family interactions include chat, dancing and a friendly pillow duel, with no health loss. All purchases use earned game coins.
Play, practice and save up
Memory Garden and Firefly Rhythm join the arcade on both platforms. Windows also has Catch the Bug and Treat Drop; mobile has Treat Hunt. You start with three arcade lives. A life returns every 30 minutes, up to three, or spend 20 coins to refill. With no lives, practice is free and gives no coins or XP.
Completed rewarded rounds give up to 8 coins based on score and up to 18 XP. Game coin rewards have a daily limit of 40, separate from level bonuses and daily care goals. Quitting early gives no game reward. Daily goals give 12 coins and levels give 8. Cuddles and meals give no direct coins; care XP has a cooldown. Existing saved coins are kept.
Room bundles and new places
Buy Seaside Cottage for 180 coins, Woodland Cabin for 260, or Moon Suite for 400. Each purchase unlocks matching wallpaper, flooring and bed, plus a matching house in Windows desktop mode. Switch between owned rooms for free. Garden and Starlight remain free level unlocks. Windows: Shop → Rooms. Mobile: Style → A place to grow.
A little pantry
The everyday bowl is always free. Buy a berry bowl (8 coins), fish bites (12), garden greens (10), or party platter (24) and select it for the next Feed. A purchased portion is consumed once. An empty pantry falls back to the free meal.
Plus preview: little paws at play
The local source and web app include Fetch Relay and Garden Hurdles. In Fetch, click the grass or press Space to throw; your pet retrieves and returns the ball. In Hurdles, click or press Space to jump. Rounds last 45 seconds. Watch mode lets the pet play automatically without spending lives or earning rewards. The published Free installer does not include these Plus preview features.
Windows: Game opens both activities and Watch. R → Personality chooses a temperament for the selected pet. V or Shop → Decorate opens the room editor. Click an existing plant, bed, toy, bowl, rug or table and drag it. Each garden plant moves independently. Put away (or Delete) stores the selected item; choose it in the catalog and Place to restore it for free. Use arrows for precise placement. Room and desktop layouts save separately. J opens the lost-star adventure: find the star, finish a pet game with points, and give three cuddles to claim six coins once per day.
Mobile: the pet games and quiet/pause controls are in Room, personality and friendships are in Family, and the daily adventure is in Today. Decorate lets you drag the existing plant, rug, bed, bowl and toy. Sliders also work for precise positioning. Put away keeps ownership; Place restores it for free. New decor costs coins only once: picnic rug 45, extra plant 55, pillow 70, flowers 60, lamp 85 and story shelf 120.
On Windows, the pet notification icon provides Bring my pets back, Show house, Quiet time, Pause/resume, Open pet room, and Save and quit. It may be inside the hidden-icons arrow on your taskbar. Right-click a desktop pet for the same recovery controls. Quiet time rests pets without sound; Pause stops their needs and activities until resumed. Desktop and mobile progress remain separate.
A desktop of your own
In the local Windows preview, right-click a pet or the house and choose Furniture / Decor. Add an owned bed, plant or rug for free, or buy extra decor with earned coins. Drag each item anywhere in the available desktop area. Right-click furniture and choose Put this item away to store it. Click a desktop bed for a nap. Hiding the house keeps your other placed furniture visible. F9 brings pets back; F10 returns to the room while the pet app has focus.
To add a second pet: R → Add a pet → Buy slot if needed → choose a species. Buying a slot makes space; choosing a friend fills it. Adding a friend automatically shows the whole family.
The pantry includes seven distinct pixel meals, with creamy pet milk (8 coins) and pumpkin soup (14). The Toy Box adds a yarn ball (45), felt mouse (65) and feather rattle (80). Buy toys once and switch for free.
